Rail
The
New Mexico Rail Runner Express has carried more than 330-thousand passengers in three months since completing Phase II of its passenger service into Santa Fe on December 15th 2008. The train provides commuter service within a 100-mile corridor which connects the two largest metropolitan areas in the state - Santa Fe and Albuquerque, as well as rural communities in the corridor. The Rail Runner holds the record for being the fastest start-up of a commuter train service in the nation.
Freight service is provided by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railways. Passenger service is provided for the Albuquerque area by AMTRAK.

Interstates
Interstate 25 – is the major regional north-south artery. I-25 is easily accessible from Albuquerque, via NM 528 (approximately 7 miles southeast of Albuquerque), or NM 528 to NM 44, located in Bernalillo, which is about 10 miles northeast of Albuquerque.
Interstate 40 – the main east-west transportation corridor for the nation. I-40 is located 10 miles south of Albuquerque via Coors Road (NM 448).
